Title: blue temperature sensor
Post by: rubberdubber on 03 December 2008, 19:06
Hi all

Bought a new black and a new blue coolant temperature sensors for my Golf today, black one fits fine and my temperature gauge now works  On removing the blue one, as i expeced its seen far better days, very rusty where the previous owner didnt have antifreeze in it!  Anyhow i went to put my new blue GSF one in there and its too big! it wont sit in the whole properly   Anyhow i rang my local vw garage for them to tell me that the part in NLA. this is obviously absolute crap as i have searched on here and found people who have replaced theres with genuine.  Anyhow my question is where can i get one that fits? If main dealer is the only option, whats the part number?

cheers

gsf one should still fit, check the old o'ring isnt stuck inthe hole?  I've heard the gsf sensors dont read right but they do at least fit, if they've stopped fitting then they're even less use

the poart number above is what you want, dealer my try to tell you its only for cars with a cat, ignore him its the right one :)
