hi guys, i need some help!

just wanted to ask will they fit a mk2 gti or will i have to get a diff set?
-
They will fit, but be sure to ask some good questions on condition.
-
theyr BRAND SPANKIN NEW lol
-
Ah. OK, Spring rates might not be 100% right, but won't be far off. what lump in your car?
-
its just a standard 16v only engine bay mod is a strut bar! lol bought it about 2 months ago but its progress is very slow!!!
-
I got these babies on my mk2 mate...
Ride is not as smooth as I would like but they are prob da best in dat price range
-
yep, i had these and they are really good for the money
-
well the guys put em up for 99p lol  but buy it now for £350 with a reserve! so im gone see wat hapens 2nite!
-
i jus bin told by the guys at rimstyle.com that the coilovers wont fit!!!! bummer
-
I'm sure you can buy FK's to fit your mk2 from anywhere for £350 mate
-
Yeah, i'd say for that price and on ebay you could get 2 sets.
i believe Rennsport or Hottuning do them for about 180.00 delivered... offer about 150.00 plus p&p
Obviously they aren't KWvariant123's but if you are only wanting iyour car in the weeds and not adjusting it every weekend for track days then they will certainly do the job. Also suggest getting some G60 top mounts too as they are bit stronger than standard.
Or there are ones out there that lower a bit more 20mm i think but never personally used them
-
^^^ Agreed, although i heard that only MI5 spys were aloud to write in green.
Do you work for MI5??
-
Sorry, only joking.

the difference between hottuning coilovers and fk konigsports is like night and day.
its not just the adjustment, they also have this great feature that damps the bumps in the road
-
^^^^ Absolutely i understand that difference in FKs and hottuning is like night and day, but so is the price!!
Generally you get what you pay for however I have used Gmax fixed height suspension kits and got great results.
Depends what you're after.
-
mine cost around £200 sold as janspeed but probably very simliar to the other budget kits of that price, i dont adjust it ever week or even month, i dont do track days, i just wanted stance and tighter suspension, original stuff leaking ect.
if my car was abit more "mint" like a show car ect or i was making adjustments alot, like doing track days i would certainly go for the more expensive kits.
Also agree with G60 top mounts along with my cheap coilovers the suspension is tight, where as before i seem to have alot of movement in the top mounts.
-
id be exactly the same, i doubt i would ever use my mk2 on a track day but i would still love to have the option of being able to adjust BOTH the hieght of the car and the dampers (i live in a craappy borough that takes the p*** when it comes to repairing pot holes in the roads!!!)

What is this obsession over wanting to adjust the ride height on a road car?
You'll put 'em on, adjust them to the height you want, then you'll leave 'em for 6 months or more and they'll seize solid. Just fit some appropriate quality struts, with some -40mm lowering springs and be done with it. They're much less likely to go wrong and won't die in a year or so.

*snigger*
Innit.
It's auditors who write in green, BTW.
-
true plus its a lot cheaper!!! lol
its my first project car and im only going by what ive been told by other dubbers to go out and get, which i know is silly but its something i have time for, im not in any hurry to get it done!

FK are far,far superior to Hot tuning etc. They are designed for motorsport and for that reason along they excel the others. They are likely to outlive/out perform the others by a long way. I have fk G2's, they are only height adjustable but the dampening is spot-on anyway... well worth the 60 squid I paid for them! Ben

aye FK highsports maybe but not konigsports.
i had highsports off a mk3 vr6, they were ok really but never had them long enough to test them thoroughly.

they ain't desinged for motorsport. the koingsports are ok but the likes of KW v2 and v3 are the start of the motorsport stuff

Interesting but new to the market I guess. If you can stretch to £500 I would go for Weitec.
Very please with mine.
Stainless threads, Height easily adjusted. Mine been on over a year, no seizing.
Good damping adjustment too.

Aint that the truth! Well, except the siezy bit - as long as when you fit them you apply ludicrous amounts of copper slip/chain wax they tend to still be pretty adjustable months down the line. The thing is, why would you keep changing your ride height - its just going to do peculiar things to your camber/tracking.
-
I read about the coilies seizing up esp in the sh**tty weather so greased the fk konigsports and am wearing these "socks":

Il let you know if they seize when i change the winter wheels

I guess the ride height adjust is useful if you change wheels often (diff profiles etc) and is quite handy for changing the stance etc
More for cosmetic reasons i suppose! (Until you break the front splitter)
