Title: Condensation on inside of steel sunroof ....
Post by: Ben Lessani on 03 December 2008, 01:32
Ello troops,

I've not got the interior cover for the sunroof on, infact, its gone to a better place. And on most days when its cold, condensation keeps forming on the inside of the sunroof. Does anyone have any advice on how to get round this ... it drips on my head and makes me wet!

You checked all the seals? Thought about getting a replacement cover?

did you take the lining off it? when i removed the roof lining on my first golf i wish i never, the protection against condensation dripping down the back of your neck is worth much more than the weight removal.

Yeah, it doesn't have the lining ... I dont have it, mine fell apart! So I guess it happens to the best of us then, doh! I'll have to get hold of another lining then...

on rainy nights i get a waterfall down the passanger side when i use tyhe brakes for the first time in the morning. Thats because the sunroof seal is broken though, so it allows huge amounts of water to come in.

Andres, that will be one of the drain channels blocked and all i expect. that sunroof seal isnt waterproof.. its jsut designed to stop mass flowings of water and also wind noise etc.. you checked the channels yet?
