Right I have been sorting out all the wiring for the conversion and im a bit stumped. I have taken a look over the fusebox guide and the diagram. Problem is my fusebox is different than the diagram. Most of it is the same, its just connector Y that doesnt match up. Question is... is location Y supposed to be one connector, or 4 single ones?? I have 2 red single connectors, one of them goes to the battery and one bridges over to Z1.

Y
1 - red - electric seat switches
2 - red - electric window relay pin 30
3 - red - battery positive
4 - red - 16V CIS-E Motronic control unit Pin 19
Z1- red - injectors (Digifant models from fuel pump relay)
Y is 4 seperate single pin plugs.. really large spades.. horizontal, kinda, to all the others..?
-
I hear ya.. but pin number 4 on Y bridges to Z1. Is that pin used on digifant for the fuel relay then??
-
if yours is actually a GTI thats wrong, Z1 is the output from the fuel pump relay and Y is 12v from the battery. If you have a GTI and its wired liek that you've made a nice short circuit there ;)
I suspect you're getting confused, 30 should be bridged to 30b :)

I was half wrong.... The 2nd pin from the end on connector Y bridges to 30b. But that still doesnt match up!! Bearing in mind I havnt touched any of this myself but there are markings on the fuse box so has been fiddled with previously. Also whilst im here.. I have just ripped out the girthy power cable from a beemer to run into my boot, is it a clear- run down the chassis rail to the back? thinking of hiding it through there as its like 20mm thick!

30 is a permanent 12v feed as well as Y so that'll be exactly the same as bridging 30 to 30b, so thats cool.
dont think its a clear run front to back along the chassis rail I'm afraid!

Cool I was hoping that was the case! And was wishfull thinking on the rails... lumpy carpet for me then as I dont fancy it uder the car! Cheers dude.
