Just thought I would have a quick look on ebay to see how much these are going for(RNS510 Touchscreen). Much to my suprise they seem to have gone up in price over the last couple of months. There are some listed for £1500!!! Where as there seems to be a power seller knocking them out for £1100 (fitted).
Quite suprised by this tbh... as mine set me back £750 about 4months ago!! Just thought I would pass on the good news to all those who said the price would be slashed in half by xmas

Oh bugger
so much for the downturn in the market...i was after one of those, but no way am i desperate to part with £1k........ will wait

Well thats what I originally thought. But knowing now that I could potentially sell mine for more than I bought it for makes me
Not that I would sell it... but its always good to know
-
Maybe next time they're cheap, I should buy two?
-
yup i agree that it's a lot of cash, but sooo worth it. SD card reader, HDD, sat nave, DVD player. So glad I have one as it has made long journey's so much more bearable.
-
Does it play DVDs whilst you're driving?
-
^^should do just connect the cable to earth rather than the handbrake thingy :afro:

Prices will go down in the new year as was origonally posted about price and depreciation/availability.Hold on to your cash till feb/march time.
Or if you wanna import one, hows £425 + £50 postage sound for an rns510??? its not the sat nav version, touchscreen but no Nav

looks like same seller is trying to get £1100 for one, has about 2 dozen by the look of things and no one else has them so he's up the price
-
thats not a vw one tho.its some market stall effort.radiomoble style
-
I wouldnt expect the price to come down too much... its still a very expensive optional extra in all new models of VW!!!
Hence the reason I didnt mind paying £750 for mine.... I will probably just move the unit to a new VW whenever required.
-
IMHO at the moment for that sort of money, this is the dogs b****ks for after market MFD headunits.
Plus a nice user interface and graphics.

-
just baught a garman for 150, already got a decent alpine HU with ipod connection
-
Lucky that my R32 comes fitted with one then..
-
Said it before and Im going to say it again. Its a complete rib off how much that thing cost. For £1500 dont even get me started on what you could get in terms of aftermarket stuff, its CRAZY! Even the £750 R32UK paid is expensive for what you get (or dont get should I say). I know people want OE stuff but thats just silly imo.
-
your right.. it is alot of money. But when you know you can get it back from someone who knows no better.... well then it all seems so worthwhile :lipsrsealed:

How much are those going for?
-
Massive thread on Briskoda about a couple of variations of those cheapo chinese efforts. Witson is one of the brands.
I have Bose Audio in my S3 and I can tell you it's not a patch on the quality of the RNS510 I had in the Octy. Ok so it is a lot of money but it is a very, very good unit.
