Title: no clutch travel?
Post by: GavG60 on 07 June 2004, 10:51
my clutch engages when I lift the pedal about 2 inches off the floor, not much room to play with... when i put it in reverse, event with the pedal fully depressed there's sometimes a clunk.

Can I adjust this to get more play / travel?

Cheers for any responses

Gav :)

Hello matey - me again :)

It all depends on 2 things:-

1. Has your car got an uprated clutch? If so, is it a ceramic paddle clutch or similar. This type of clutch has very little slip, and is almost ON or OFF. It has to be this way to cope with high levels of power.

2. Has the car got a manual or auto adjusting cable. Unless it's manual there's sod all you can do to move the bite point without changing the cable to a manual one.

Hope this helps ...
