Title: Who knows about Polo's?

Not a Golf, but its baby sister, so nearly relevant.

A friend of mine has a 2000/2001 VW Polo 1.4 petrol. It is the very last of the square headlight variety and he has a problem with his clutch cable. The one he has on there, according to his description, is a self adjusting one. Now if it is anything like the MKII ones, they are a load of crap. Is there a manually adjustable cable that will fit as a replacement and if so, which car is it from please?

Thats the MK3. I think the MK3 Golf or Lupo one might fit. I'm not sure if they are self adjusting though, never done one.

Most mk3 golfs are self adjusting, some of the early ones were manual maybe try one of those.

That's a point. Nick one from a K reg 1.4 or something, they'll be manual.

Might be worth popping over to uk-polos.net, been a member on there for years, they're a good bunch.

FYI we call that a mk5 Polo.  Shares a lot with the mk4 6N underneath.
