Thinking of buying the full set up from a car being broken. Is there alot of work involved? Will it sap power from my 1.8 16v????

apart from cutting a hole in the firewall its basic spannering work and a bit of wiring.  If you've ever done a heater matrix before the airbox requires that level of dash stripping, plus dont forget you need all the heater control head, cables, wiring, vac pipes from it to engine bay plus the vacuum reservoir.  You also need the dash undertray and glovebox since the airbox is much larger than the normal one.  It'll only sap power when switched on though, but dont forget about all that extra weight ;)
