Sorry folks, boring thread alert
Anyone know how best to adjust the nozzle spray from the windscreen washers? The one on my side gives a nice wide spray, whereas the one on the passenger side resembles a limp pee! I did this on a Ford a few years ago and it was just a matter of sticking a pin into the nozzle and wiggling it a bit, but the nozzle in the Golf seems different, its a wide/narrow slot, not a pin-point.
Nothing in the manual about it either, I checked.

Not an answer Joe,I,m having the same problem, but on the MKIV there was a "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" when the resevoir was empty
but not a sausage on the MK5.Did yours beep when empty?????

are the pipes going to the nozzles not kinked or split?? might be worth checking just in case its caught somewhere

One way to cure the 'wee' spray is to take the nozzle assembly off and soak it in hot water....and then use the proper VW screen wash. Other brands tend to clog the fan nozzles.
AFAIK the warning beep on the mk5 was part of the winter pack and sadly not standard.

The funny thing is my Mk iv didn't have the winter pack but still beeped and flashed up a warning??

No, mine doesn't beep, and there's no warning light in the dash either.
I'll check and see if the pipes are kinked, I'd hoped the solution was easier than taking the nozzle apart though!

Standard on the mk4, but alas not the mk5.
