was drivin hime from work the other night and all of a sudden i could hear a knockin/grindin noise but couldnt tell where it was comin from, but suspected it was from the back. took it to kwik fit, they had a look and said your exhaust has come off the rubber, which they sorted and off i went, still not convinced, but the noise had gone. then last wednesday it came back...from the front...thinkin the drivers side.
i knows its not a great description but can anyone give me a clue to what it could be??
THANKS

maybe the exhaust again ??
if it fell off at the back might have pulled a joint loose and blowing / knocking on the body
:undecided: :undecided:

As above. Replace all the exhaust rubbers and eliminate that question. Exhaust rubbers perish very quickly and do not last that long.

cheers guys. well its mot time tomorrow so well see if it is. i really hope so..could do without spendin :(

They won't cost much but make sure you get the correct ones. Normal O ring rubbers are not the ones you need.
-
plus if there is either an exhaust blow or one of the rubber's missing it will fail the MOT

heat shield maybe or exhaust catching on the rear beam??

heat shield maybe or exhaust catching on the rear beam??
Agree with that, i have had a loose heat shield and it was very noisey / raspy. My exhaust constantly knocks on the rear beam so will be fitting some hardcore poly rubbers tomoro and also re-aline it to see if that fixes it.
Incedently, it was right at the front near downpipes that the heat shield went on mine but managed to fix it quite easily with some new locking washers, just have a look and see if yours is like that?
