Title: fault code readers

Does anybody know where the port is for a fault code reader on a '97 mk3? Ive jimmyed off a couple of dash parts but still havnt found it. Any ideas?

step1 (remove the ashtray) pull your ash tray out as far as it'll go, then find the bottom middle of it and theres a button to press.

step2. to the left of where the ashtray was is a sliding blanking plate hiding the socket, slide it over to the right into the space where teh ash tray was (you cant remove it without the ashtry being removed)

Cheers for that mate, lets just hope it doesnt find too many faults!
