Hi all,
I've done the tested route of upgrading my 239mm gti brakes to the 280mm G60 ones, definately worth it! but my skinny space saver no long fits! so if I need to replace a front tyre I have to change a rear tyre first  since I don't want a full size spare (would really upset my handy work) does anyone know if the G60 spare was a space saver or full size? Or does anyone know of a narrow 15' I could use as a spare? still running 4 stud pcd 100.
regards

Couldn't say.
But I know this was a problem with Type R Civics..... and that was a standard car from the factory. What a faff.

get a space saver from a g60, rallye, corrado
or just get a random 15" alloy and tyer off someone
-
tin of tyre repair foam :)
-
I have seen a 4x100 15" space saver on the bay of Es before, but they used those immortal words " uber rare "

or just get a random 15" alloy and tyer off someone
but then you have the crappy bulge in the boot carpet
-
Not if you've got a proper Golf - they have a higher boot floor and thus a proper size well for the wheel.
I mean how many people look in your boot to see this unsightly bulge anyway?!
-
really gent's
no one want's to see an "unsightly bulge" any where

Not vag but could save alot of headache.
honda 15'' space saver. Same 4x100 fitment but the centre bore will be abit tight but thats a minor job.

possibly a mk3 space saver out there thats 15''. not sure
diamond hell...That boot bulge looks sh1t and im a fussy git. hows that  (got a few stuff in the boot and the bulge would make things awkward)
each to their own

i dont think that honda wheel would clear the brakes
you could just put the back on the front then the space saver on the rear if you get a puncture? it doesnt take that long!
-
yarg Golf G60 etc 15" space saver is what you need, or do the old tyre switcharoo.
I found the bulge was quite handy for luggage though, help stop ya shopin shifting aboot
-
Yeah my handy work is causing problems! I fitted a MDF floor to the boot, raised to clear the old spare, but unless I can find a narrow 15' wheel or a proper space saver to clear the brakes, I can't fit the floor down! Is there anyone able to check how much for a G60 space saver, or anyone got one? I live in stevenage during the week and near woking at the weekends. I'll try a breaker later as well.
cheers for the posts guys
