Title: vag com do's and DONTS ???

Just received my vag com lead and software in the post today . going to try and sus it out on monday
i want to find out why my abs light is on etc and any other problems.

can any body tell me any do's and donts i should be aware off
centenly dont want to knacker anything up ?????

I bought a cheap wire and the software of ebay, whats the difference between this n the original wire?

Heres the one i bought;

i noticed that the bit which plugs into the car has 2 pins which are slightly longer, should they be?
