Title: Little mod.
Post by: Hurdy on 21 November 2008, 14:30: Didn't like the centre caps so bought these. VW part No 7D0 601 165 just in case anyone else with pro race alloys fancies the swap :cool:

Stock VW bolt covers don't fit :sad:

Yeah, the bolts come with a star adapter a little like a torx screw fitting that fits inside the bolt head so that if you slip with the wrench you don't damage the alloy. It also makes it that little bit more awkward for theiving B****s to get the wheels off as they can't use a standard wrench as they are totally round on the outside :wink:

I don't know what make they are, but I'll find out for ya :smiley:

My little mod has been stripping it out ready for Donny on Sunday.. The back seat upright weighs a bloody tonne!!!

Although I might be buying some snow chains too at this rate.

Sure has, got very wet coming back from school!

But I think the wheels caps make a huge difference, look a bit more OEM now as well, I'm liking them more now than before, loads better!

Can anyone help me out... I have 19x8 BBS CH's and whilst the centre caps are nice, I'd really like to put some quality VW ones on to retain more of an OEM look. I have tried to find out some info but drawing a blank. What is the size I need to replace the BBS ones? Where can I get them from? Thanks in advance for any much needed info!
