Title: r32 insurance
Post by: Obbzi on 21 November 2008, 11:48
I'm (ahem) 33 years old 14 years no claims, car will be garaged and I've got a quote from Esure (current insurers) of approx £680 with NCB protection, legal cover etc

How does this sound?

I know its not the cheapest and when its time for renewal I will probably go to Greenlight (who insured my CTR and were great, no extra premium for mods!)

Under your circumstances that sounds like a lot to me  :undecided:

I'm 30 8 years ncd and a girlfriend of 23 on the policy too and i pay £800 with Brentacre insurance, if it was just me on the policy it would have been £450!

I would say you should be paying around £400.

Sounds steep to me,
Under 30, Claim/ban (not my fault, well maybe a little bit), 3 points (stupidest ever) 2yrs NCD, parked on street and Mk2 16v gti with mods, Adrian Flux 450.00 pa

Do HiC not do a discount for forum members, or did I just make that up?

It does sound a lot - Im only paying £100 more for a GTI, 24y/o, 3yrs ncb

Try Elephant/Bell/Admiral - they are always the cheapest for me, but I've never had to make a claim off them so could be a false economy
