Title: Corrado
Post by: Blue MK2 on 03 June 2004, 13:12
Still looking into buying a Corrado 16v but a mate has a G60 which he will sell if i come up with the cash (duno what they are worth yet so havnt offered anything), mint with 17's and lowered. Dark Blue but duno about milage or history yet. (yet) I know its going cheap so im worried about the Charger.

Does anyone know how much a Charger service would normaly cost? and who to give it to (if) i bought it?

standard rebuild at pitstop is 320 quid. not bad as that includes all parts and it is quite labour intensive

I don't like the idea of all this rebuilding lark with the G60 :(

Just as long as you have proof it was done on X miles when you by one I guess you'll be ok.

Hey Blue,

I'm getting my charger rebuilt by pitstop on Tuesday, they do a cheaper rebuild than jabbasport and are supposed to be pretty good and very thorough. I will let you know wht sort of job they do. They're based just outside Brighton if your in the south, otherwise I'd probably head off to jabbasport.

 ;)

I hear from a few people that its a rebuild on the chargers every 40K and some say double 70K-80K,  how do the engine compare too? What would it cost to get it serviced, compared to a 16v lump?
Just curious thats all.

as far as I'm aware the servicing is pretty similar, but as the oil in the engine goes into the charger as well, it probably pays to change it a little more regularly to keep the charger sweet. :)

Something the corrado people told me. If you find oil in the charger inlet or outlet (cant rememeber which one) pipe then you need a service.

cheers for the reply's peeps.
