i left a note on a mk3 gti thats been sitting on my road for ages. he phoned me back, it has no tax and no mot. i said id come and have a look at it.
its red, five door, gti. body work looks good so does the paint.
how much is it worth and what should i look out for when i look at it.

check this thread for buying info http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=78701.0 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=78701.0)
value wise is impossible to say...check ebay autotrader for similar looking cars (although i would say £300 max unless its really tidy and an easy m.o.t prospect!)

how long is a piece of string?
8v/16v?
mileage?
interior condition?
how does the engine run?
why has it not got mot?
service history?
etc etc etc
weigh all that up.. factor in your 'i must have it' cost and you will have something approaching what it might be worth... to you

Brought my p plate 8 valve (5 door in red funny enough) this year so beginning to know my way around them!
