to buy a new car?
i started a new job a couple of months ago thats going well and pretty credit crunch proof, juggled a few debts around and got quite a bit of spare cash every month.
even the other half has agreed it`s time the car needs changing(and for those of you who know yvonne thats half the battle done )
i want a 5 door pirelli edition mk5 but obviously want it as cheap as possible. gilder vw in chesterfield has one but want £25k , which is way to much i have noticed a lot of dealers have a few 08/57 ed30`s for around £18k which is very tempting. now how much do you think i could get a 5 door pirelli for realistically or am i best to go and get an ed30?
not really interested in what its worth in years to come as my other half will keep it for 4 years+
your thoughts and ideas will be much appreciated

Personally mate I would get the ED30 isntead of the Pirelli I doubt you will find one of them for less than 22k. Better of just getting the ED30 at a big discount plenty of them around.

R32 surely mate?

nice cars but the pirelli/ed30 really floats my boat. shame as can get a new one cheap as chips my dealer has 3 unregistered ones in for under £20k

You do strike me as more of a turbo man than a 6 pot man to be fair. Good luck with the hunt.

a lot more cash for not a lot more car Vaughn,
therefore R32 would win it for me

thats what i`m thinking. i didn`t know if any one had been into a dealer and tried having a deal and what sort of discount they were giving due to the credit crunch.
i mean if i could get 20% off i would be very tempted at £20k for the pirelli

I guess it will be haggling, keep mentioning that the credit crunch had halted the new and used car market.
Speel them sh!t and they'll take it down, maybe not £20k but they'll surely knock something off it..

Are you sure yvonne isn't going to change her mind if you take too long in deciding?

i drive my dads ed30 with dsg. its just awesome. so smooth. he's had a c220cdi and 320d before and the dsg is by far the smothest and quickest. he says 'its got the gearbox from a lambo this' ok pops!
i borrow it to get from derby to lancaster to see my girlfriend at uni, and it returns good mpg when not rushed. certainly better on fuel than my mk2. saying that, i often get home and my cars missing!

£20k can buy a lot of car....take your time!
That's Porsche money and so on...
-
ED30 has nicer wheels and seats that the P imo.
