hey, i've got a concept with a faulty passenger leather seat heater, mine (the drivers one obviously) works a treat (infact its a little too hot for me) i havnt had the passenger one fixed as i never sit in the passenger seat. my gf constantly moans about it as she's always cold (typical woman), aparently the actual bit that should get hot needs replacing. costs about £20ish plus fitting so i've been told.
-
Yep, it'll be the pads in the seat. Last ones on ebay where about £30 ea. Don't know where you can still get them tbh?
-
you can get the heated element pads from the dealers
Recaro leather part no: 535 963 555C
Non Recaro leather seat part no: 1H0 963 555B
both around 71 quid each.. this is for the bottom pads (bits under your arse)

hey guys
i have an r reg vr and my prob is that they dont get hot enough, i turn them to max and they only get litle bit hot, does any1 know what is the cause of mine not heating up, i know that they are supposed to get realy hot coz my mates do in his vr,
would i need to change the heating pads or is it a switch problem
p.s. when you turn the number up does the switch make a ticking noise evrytime you change up a number, coz mine doesnt?
thanks
-
Switch sounds normal, mine doesn't click anyway?
Have you checked the relay under the seat? Does sound like you need new pads anyway - they are made up of a thin wire track & the wire, like a fuse, burns out over time so less & less of the pad actually heats up.
£71 ea!
Think I'll just stick with a cold bum for now!
-
Jed mate.. steal the one from the passenger side and make your passenger have a cold arse!
Orr.. just leave it for now, when its cold we can go in my car as mine work
-
mine dont budge at all.. but no on can tell me what fuse/relay to check
anyone any ideas?

Under the seats there's a relay attached to the subframe, easiest way is to just drop the seat out!
-
aha,,,cheers
so no other fuses??
-
I believe the fuse for the heated seats is the same as the one that runs the interior lights and windows etc... so providing the work it wont be the fuse

As mentioned, shared fuse, but if you're getting some heat I'd think it would be the pads!
-
i think mine are the pads then, as mine give little heat out,
is it a hard job taking the leather off, coz im scared of ripping them
