Hi All

How hard is it to put some wrx sti buckets in a 1996 golf.

Anyone done it and is it possible ? or is there alot of modification involved???

I wouldnt think it was straight forward, the frames/runners will be completely different. I wont be impossible. You will probably have to knock something up for the seat to fit too.

u wana make sure you check every size of the sti seats because my mate had sum put into his 106 gti (yes i know, it luked f**kin stupid after!!!) and no 1 could get in the bk and he had to rip out his door mounts and front speakers to get them in lol, beaware!

If you fit bucket seats do you have to put in 5 point harnesses, or can the original seatbelts work ok and not look stupid?

I'd stear clear of buckets.. unless your going to go for some nice original recaro's etc...

Thanks for the input, origanal recaros, they like the ones out of the golf tdi and golf 4s?

Well theres all sorts, i know the mk3 colour concept has leather recaro's. Im not sure if any other mk3's have them though?

Again.. If you go for mk4 seats etc then you will need to start f'in around with the subframe to make them fit. Try and get hold of i nice set of mk3 seats from a gti/colour concept/anniversary/vr6, or something along those lines will look much better IMO.

do the sti seats, be different, everyone with vw's always do the same mods as each other!!!

id go with the sti,s but re-trim them so theres no STI logo in the head rest  :wink:
