Title: Power Steering Pump & water pump?
Post by: eightyeightmph on 14 November 2008, 13:36
Mine have both about had it, Jodie at Midland has quoted to do them when he does the camber/tracking after I fit the coilies, but I was wondering if anyone has done either themselves & where/who supplied the pumps?

Thanks!

I did my waterpump myself on my vr, its not a hard job, the parts i got from GSF and they were spot on! Pump and belt cost me less than £30!
Not a hard job on the vr, requires loosening engine mount and jacking the engine up to make it accesable though.
And i guess your power steering pump will be in the same place as my vr and i need a new one too, i got one priced up last week with GSF iirc they quoted me £65.

Hope this helps

Thanks! It's annoying as I only put on a new radiator earlier in the year & had I known about the pump at the time I could of done it at the same time!

Thanks for the info re. prices though, spot on! :afro:

Power steering pump is very easy to do, just two or three bolts. Did it on my old 16v
