hi all,
the oil light has start flashing on the clocks in my gti,
i know this has been asked a few time before, but just want some advice really.
it only happens once the engine has warmed up, and only when the revs drop below 1krpm.
ive read it may be one of the oil pressure switches on the engine, is this likely to be the cause?
i dont think the oil pickup is clogged as the sump was changed 5 months ago.
the oil and filter were changed 2 weeks ago and the oil level is fine.
is there anything else that i should be looking for?
thanks

Hi Tubb.
Remember to post your engine details on posts to help people come up with suggestions.
For example, if it was a 16 KR like mine, the idle is not supposed to go much below 1000, but thats different on an 8v etc.

sorry, should of said its a 2ltr 16v k-jet

Ooo, saucy!

Well, there are loads of previous threads on this that will give you loads of ideas (use the search function etc.). My ten pence worth would be that my flashing oil light was cured by a thorough oil change with decent oil and genuine VW filter but yours sounds like it would be clocks or sender related.
Good luck with it!

i know mine is a 8v digi but it was doing the same and i changed the oil to 10W40 not the 5W30 that was in it and a genuine filter and bingo never done it since
