i clean my car like a freak but the one thing that i notice on the wheels no matter what i use there are still these litle black spots that wont shift! ive been told they are tar spots? but any good ways to prevent or get rid of them, just bought some new wheels and dont want this happening as well
cheers in advance

Poorboys wheel sealant. Like a wax you put on and buff off, makes dirt just fall off your wheels when you clean them. I'd say get some and wack two coats on your rims inside and out before you even fit them to your car.

Nick your a legend nice one!! that will work out fine as i havent got any tyres yet lol

For Tar spots see if you can get hold of Autosmart Tardis it will do that no worries. A decent valet bay should have some or a valeter at a stealer. Im often a cheeky bleeder and go and ask for a little bit of stuff if I need it
-
I take it you can use other products along side the poorboys sealant?
-
wonder wheels
then if you keep up to them you will never need to use it again, i just use SRP on my alloys and then Jetseal...with a quick coat of wax afterwards
-
cool,
so 2 layers of wax before i put them on, then when it comes to cleaning some wonder wheels, think i got some fo that left, bought the meguiars alloy spray, and then just maintain the layer of poorboys
-
i use collinite 845 on my wheels, 2 or 3 coats does the trick and makes them well easy to keep clean. and collinite 845 is detergent proof

Dont use wonder wheels as it contains acid. Only use for stupidly stubborn dirt.
I put three layers of PB wheel sealant on mine while waiting for tyres, haven't cleaned the car since the wheel went on but will find out what its like on the weekend

ahh cool let me know

+1 kells, i totally agree, it takes any crap of the wheels, then aslong as you clean them, you dont use it ever again!

Do NOT use Wonder Wheels because its acid based. It probably wouldnt remove the tar anyway. If you want a wheel cleaner get some Bilbery ( spelling )
For the Tar spots use Tardis is great stuff removes the tar in seconds.
To protect your wheels use 2 or 3 coats of Poorboys wheel sealant its great stuff and makes cleaning them in the future a hell of a lot less hard work.

Just wanted to add to this thread an update.
Wheels were coated with PB Sealant a while ago now and yesterday I washed the car for the first time in nearly on month. The wheels were minging and I expected to have to scrub them. No need, the brakedust and mud just came off with a slightest of stokes from my wash mit, they came so easily and quickly. I'm soooo impressed with this stuff!

ive got some image stuff for the bbs, i suppose its some sort of sealant. its good stuff, after the wheel is clean you coat them in it, leave for an hour then buff it off. the outer rims are bare ally and i have never had to get the metal polish on them, even after not washing the car for a month!
-
good to hear that the pb is awsome nick,
put to coats on the wheels, inside and out, still waiting to get tyres for them, prob do one last coat before i put them on the car,
i got some meguairs wheel cleaner, will this be ok or fromwhat you said nick will there be any need for wheel cleaner? lol
-
I just used my wash mit and some Bilt Hamber car shampoo that's nice and mild and doesn't strip any wax sealant off.

The Megs stuff is pretty strong so only use when you really need to.
If you have sealent on them you dont really need to use any cleaner apart from your normal shampoop

i got polished wheels and i havent used wax cus worried about ruinin them wouldnt mind using one if it safe, but anyway i use autoglym custom wheel cleaner which i was assured was fine to use on chrome and polished rims and that seems to do a really good job on my wheels and exhaust tip

any good pure sealant and wax is safe for your rims!!!! it will protect them better than autoglym stuff will

I usually use 2 coats of SRP, 1 coat of EGP, 1 coat of Meg NXT Gen Wax and 2 Coats of Chemical Guys Wheel Sealent, after that they never get dirty  Usually do the same routine every 3 months but inbetween will top up on the Wheel sealent.
