-
Big thanks to jv for organising the event and seems like pretty good results for everyone, maybe we could have a re-match sometime??

-
LOL yeah, my car hid its self in the back and was feeling rather intimidated by all the bigger, more powerful cars, I think it was wishing it was at a max power cruize where it would be surrounded by crappy 1.2 corsas and naked women so it could laught at there lack of performance :D
Dont worrie, Im after a 8V lump now, Oh and i have two cans of a little somthing sitting here in my Bedroom, And there not cans of coke either ;)
-
;)
the amd day looked cool as hell 8)
when is the rematch?
ill definately be there! :D
-
wow...looks like a missed a blinding day...... :-\
if I hadn't beenout buying my *cough* G60 I'd have been there... ;D
G6dub - what are the mods to your limited? how many of them can be applied to an 8valve?
Glad you all had a top day guys!
-
GavG60 - only mods is the charger rebuild done by Bahn Brenner, ISV reroute and decat zorst.
JV thanks for sorting out a great day cheers from all of us.
-
Yeah, thanks for sorting JV, it was a great day, even if the start was a little early ;D
By the way, I still have the cheesy grin plastered all over my face!!!
-
^^^^i bet you do lucky sod! :P
yeah well cool day jv, nice one!
-
i call a rematch too, but not until i've been to jabba and sorted my mapping out ;D
it's a shame i was half asleep all morning though, i did manage to put my stickers on straight though, unlike someone ^ *cough* :P
-
err... yeah, what can i say i got excited and rushed them :-[
-
oh and here are the pics i took,
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/john.combes2/amdpictures.html
some of them arent to good because i had my camera on the 'its really bright in here' setting so they are really dark oh and my hand was a bit shaky for some :-[
and some are corrupted cos ntlworld sucks as a webspace host >:(
oh well i tried and will sort it for next time :D
-
I really enjoyed the day as well, and would deffo come to the rematch to see how much difference my new exhaust makes to what bhp mine put out on saturday ;)
-
can we get a rematch sorted out real soon? :P
im dying to get on the rollers! :)
-
i think you'll have to wait untill everyone gets all there new mods on to try and outdo each other again!!!
-

I was happy with +22 bhp for a standard 8v! Even more so when the guy at AMD said his was pushing 130 with a remap and stanless which was 7 below mine as standard.
Was pipped for the "largest above book figure with no mods award" by Simon though. >:( ;D
-
are they @flywheel or @wheel bhp figures?
assuming its the flywheel?
what was the reasoning behind the bad showing of the 16v??
-
got to be at the wheels right? ???
-
that std mk3 8v putting out 130bhp at the wheels would then be looking at something like 145bhp at the fly
which would be 30bhp up on std book figure :o
hence why i wondering about @fly or @wheel readings
-
they were all at the fly. the 16v was down on power because of dodgy timing, gonna sort it 2mora, and do cam chain and tappets as well
-
Organised somthing today that should make the next AMD day a little fruity ;) i now have a B20 motor sitting in my shed, Now where to put the tranny ???

I took this photo at amd, I like it because it shows my three favorite styles:
Custom - My Mk2
Euro - slammed Mk2 (thanks to Top for reminding me who it belonged to)
Sleeper - SIIEPs Mk4
:D
(dnno how to show the image, i cant get the properties or the addy of the actualy image, JV if you can change it for me mate it would be a great help ;))
-
the silver one belongs to Slammed Mk2 (formerly Pearlgreygti)
-
Ahhh! i like his car a lot, It almost inspirted me to rip off all my stickers when my G60 arches and skirts arive and buy a de-badged gtill ;) But instead my insurance paid me and tomorrow im buying jetta lights of fraiser lol, Onwards with my odd looking Mk2! :P (hey! it least i never loose it in car parks, I just stand on somthing and look for a big OZ Racing banner ;D

I know it's been answered but thought I'd expand a little.
1) All the figures were first measured at the wheel going up the revs
2)Then they dip the clutch and measure the transmission losses going down the revs.
3)Adjust figures from 1) to allow for figures in 2) and there you go, flywheel figures which are shown on the pretty graph you get.
The guys at AMD were fantastic for taking the time to explain that to me. Before that I thought they just used a default figure which would be a pants way to do it.
