Title: Engine/Anger management
Post by: T1 11JKE on 04 November 2008, 21:25
Alrite ppl, i purchased my golf a month back and so far the oxygen sensor, the battery, the temperture sensor, and the thermostat have all been changed in the last 14days due to the engine management light highlighting them!!! jus wondering weather this is down to wear on the engine or weather it is natural. Or has this GTI had a previous life?????

Any ideas lads???? its a mk4 golf 51, 82k turbo

doesn't sound out-of-this-world for that mileage to be honest

O2 sensor is the only one that I wouldn't really expect to go if it's been serviced regularly, but its not unheard of. Just keep on top of the servicing and you'll be good for another 100k on that engine

delete all faults, take it for a drive and then check again to see what it says..the faults stored may be old ones that may have been remedied or something..
