my MOT is up at the start of december but i was thinking should i get it done this month so it gives me time to fix whats wrong with fingers crossed theres nothing wrong with it
-
what is your question? if its 'is it a good idea' then yes :)
-
You can put your car in for testing a month before it's due. If it passes and you have the old certificate there, the new one will be dated from the expiry of the old. It's a win win situation. Unusual for government dealing with motorists.

Remember to go to one of the council MOT testing centres

Does it even work like this now, im fairly sure if you take your car for an early mot test and it fails it voids your current mot and s technically your car is flagged as a fail

this is correct, if a vehicle fails an mot it has failed because it has been deemed to be in an unroadworthy condition, and has been given a written document (vt30 i think) with the reasons why an mot certificate has been refused. that is why alot of people pay garages to do a pre mot service, then any faults found on the service can be sorted out........so it won't fail the mot
