Just got back from holiday, after driving 200 miles this morning.
This afternoon, bloody car won't start.
There is no noise coming from the fuel pump, so i checked the relay, it has power at terminal 30 and it clicks when i turn the ignition on.
Checked for power to the pump, no power!
I checked most of the wiring loom, it looks fine.
Fuse is ok.
Also checked ECU relay, it clicks when ignition is turned on.
Its getting dark now, so i can't be arsed.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
cheers.

have you any spare relays knocking about to try 6'? even though the relay clicks (coils working) the contacts may be fooked hence no power, id try this 1st matey if you getting power to realy 30 that could only be the supply to either the coil (of the relay) or the supply that passes through it when the relay is in the closed postiton (supplying power to pump), another way to rule this out is to use some wire and bridge it across from the 12v supply your getting to the terminal that goes to the fuel pump, if this works you know for certain its the relay matey!!

Thanks Gaz,
I'm hoping that a mk2 fuel relay is the same as a mk3, if it is i can try it out.
Terminal 30 is the positive feed from to the relay.
I'm not sure which terminal to bridge with terminal 30.
I thought if the relay clicks then it should work ???

Just tried a relay from an Audi.
No joy >:(
It can't be the relay, what next ???
-
time to get that hammer out and bash it one ;)
-
Cheers Blu :D
I bridged + and - on fuse box, and the pump runs.
However both relays i tried clicked but no power to the pump.
I'm confused ???

I had one of those. kept blowing FP relays. I changed the fuse box for a spare I had and the problem has never come back.
the relays legs work with the ones opposite. top with bottom. left with right. if you know what I mean. bridging the left and right, the 2 biggest legs will make the pump run forever.

Change to carbs, only technology, but easy to fix ;D

Car fixed today.
The alarm was still messing with the fuel pump circuit , even though it was supposed to be 'disabled'.
Bypass circuit professionally fitted by Pete (Modulator).
Top bollox , shame he don't use the site any more ;)

Glad you got it fixed, nothing worse than a dead car ::).
