Title: Gearbox Drain Plug
Post by: Jamie123 on 28 May 2004, 08:55
I seem to be having an amazing amount of grief of getting the gearbox drain plug undone!! I don't suppose anyone else has experienced this??

I have the right tool... but the plug doesn't seem to budge!! btw I've soaked it the ol' trusty WD40 overnight and that still doesn't seem to loosen it!! Any ideas??

btw the car's a 95 16v.

Cheers.

I know this sounds daft, tighten until it moves then undo.

Get a decent size breaker bar on it.
The chances are it will not of come out in its life so it will need plenty of leverage to move it.
