I ran one for four years. I got called a hairdresser but not a girl !

mk1 cabs are quality cars, they look the dogs and are a head turner. They don't look bad with the roof down in the summer either.

Maybe not a bad thing with the fuel filler neck as they are renowned for letting rust get into the fuel system, so best to change it straight away anyway. But yes, what a tw*t for not being honest.

to be fair though its something that should always be checked when buying a MK1 ;)

they'll fit but the forward/back handle is on the wrong side, can still pull the pin across wi ya finger tho, not like you move em that often.  If its a later cab the foam, fabric and upper seat back from pre-90 MK2 seats will fit on the MK1 frames, provided they're the sports seats with the bolsters.
You can sometimes swap the handles over on the bases, providing the height adjust mechanism isnt in the way!

Mk1 rags are cool. They just have a bit of a stigma, usually set by blokes who haven't got the balls or confidence to drive one! I bought my bronze mk1 for my fiancee, but we'll both drive it when it's done!!
