Hi Glen
If you hang on a couple of weeks the way prices are going you could get one off the factory floor for 12 grand.

Just having a quick scan on Autotrader, it looks like you can get up to an 06 reg with mileage under 40k.

Spec you really need, should include:-

18" Monza's (check for "white worm" and damage)
Highline MFD computer.

Anything else is a bonus

I wouldn't bother too much with the Highline MFD computer, its not a must have in my opinion and certainly not a deal breaker if the car is right.

Sorry to thread crash but me is now looking for mk5. It was gonna be a gti, but the insurance fuel bill and tax is playing a huge factor me going for the 140 or 170 diesel.

So what sort of prices are they these days?

Message me with info plz.

Hi Glenn!
like everyone says hang on for abit as prices are really coming down, thats what im doing as i might be in the market for an ED30. if you want toys then your probably have a higher mileage car for that kind of price, just be patient and keep your ear to the ground as they are to be had!

HTH

As long as its got a full history then Im sure it will be ok. Have a search on the forum to see what things to look for, i.e. steering rack issues (thats the only one that I can remember off the top of my head unfortunately).

Good luck

have a close look for scratch's in the laquer of the paintwork(front of bonnet and door handle and boot handle areas). Lovelly colour and a i would say one of the rare colours. Sounds an excellent spec, and have a close inspection of those wheels

Will give a good indicator on how well shes been cared for previously.

Hope shes as good as she sounds.

Welcome , hope you enjoy your stay
