Title: Under 3k for first 1000miles.
Post by: Col_GTI on 28 October 2008, 14:04

I Picked up my Pirelli on sat and all i can say is " what a car".

I was just wondering, does anyone still run there car in???

At the moment i am taking it easy but was this just with cars of old or did everyone hit the pedal as soon as they left the showroom??

They say 'running in' isn't necessary anymore, but why risk it?

We asked this question when a new diesel passat arrived at work, told it was fine to rev to redline. 3 months later it was p!ssing oil into the water and had to have a new engine. The new engine came with a strict 'running in' procedure that we all know and love.

Mentions not doing over 2 3rds of the top speed in the first 1000 miles. Which even at that its still speeding on a motorway.

I would defo run it in properly, why take a chance unless your going to trade it in after a year.
Plus it will save you a few quid on oil as you wont need to top it up every time you put petrol in.
OOOOh controversial
PS i think Perilli P has booked david Bailey to do his photo shoot.
