what is needed, on revo site it just says:
An aftermarket performance exhaust system
A 4 bar fuel pressure regulator (??? anyone have one of these?)
An optional aftermarket diverter valve
And a Revo SPS (whats this? the switch?)
so basically, what is a MUST for a stage 2... do you HAVE to have an aftermarket zorst.... i know its a good idea and will limit performance without... but surely you can still have the stage2 tuning?
basically asking, because i probably will get the revo remap offer Vtec has sorted out. but when it comes to zorst time... having to go back to have a fwe tweeks for stage 2 is a bit of a pain...
-
The list you have given there Steve is for the 1.8T engine (4 bar etc).. The stage 2 for the TFSI just requires that you have a TBE (Milltek for example)..
I wouldn't advise having it without..
-
ah, was just frmo revo site...
hum.. shame i dont have one then :(
-
I ran Stg II on my first Octy for quite some miles without a TBE just a CAT Back.
-
will it do any halm with stock zorst? :-|

No it won't do any harm IMHO, but you won't get peak gains. Why do you want stage II?

but surely higher torque with smaller zorst like vtecs???

as my first posty, means i dont have go to back and pay for stage2 later on! if i get stage2 map first then all i gotta do is bolt on a zorst
-
Assuming, from your first post, you are going for REVO, you pay for stage II no matter when you buy it.
So Stage 1 is £499 and stage 2 is £50, straight to stage 2 would still be £549. (all plus VAT)
-
agreed. but was going to see if the guy Vtec has got to do the £400 offer would do it cheaper too..
what is stage 2 exactly, different tuning or map all together?... i mean... if i bought a select plus switch could i theoretically tune it to stage 2 myself?
-
Stage 1 is a good start point, the Select plus is excellent and as you progress with your mods you can tune your car to suit. I wouldn't rush to Stage II. Instead I'd put the money toward VCDS (VAG-COM) as you'll get much more from that in terms of tuning potential and fault diagnosis.
-
so is a stage2, just stage1 but with tuning which can be done on the select plus box?

No. It's a different map.
-
As vRStu says it's a different map that takes full advantage of a free flowing down pipe and cat.

i have a mate who is a revo dealer so i am going to stick stage 2 on this week i think and see how it runs
