i want to go get my girlfriend from work and engine start's ok run's for about 20 second's , cough's misses and stop's , i cannot keep it running with the throttle as it just cough's more till it stop's , then it will start again perfectly but does the same as before !!!
checked all the silly thing's any ideas ??

First check for me would be fuel starvation... Blocked filter, lift pump, main pump, or even tank too empty. After that I would look at vac leaks.
PS... It helps if you say which engine it is, although from your sig it looks like an edition one, which were either G60's or 16v's IIRC?

ok cool sorry it is a PF motor which is a PB plus cat 8v engine
as for fuel starvation the filter was changed about 2k ago and the pump is still running when she stop's ,and primes back up afterwood's
i personally think it is like a balast resistor or summet like that but fook knows !!!!

any more idea's ??
could it be the MAF ?? i was trying to set the Co yesterday but because it has a Lambda probe the Co wont adjust using the allen screw , i screwed it all the way in and most of the way out but the Co stay's at 1.20 and the Hc is staying at 240 which i think is very good ,
so i reset the Alen screw to it's original position and it ran well , i was looking at the 2 micro switches and thing's on the throttle body but i didn't disconnect any thing or see any problem's there , drove the car home (drove well) and then went to go for the Mrs and it wont run now !! just starts really well runs for 15 to 20 seconds cough's a few times and slowly stop's coughing and popping , fuel pump primes again and it will start perfectly
please help as it is my daily driver and i can't get to work without it

checked your ecu relay ?
pop the return fuel line off and put it into a plastic bottel and start the engine, it'll run fine with the return lien off as long as there is soemthgin to collect the fuel and just check to see if there is a constant flow, if it stops before the engine is a fuel supply issue otherwise it's ignition.
also worth checking the littel vaccume hoses to the fuel pressure reg tho they normaly manage to run without these
the ignition is fully electronic so no balast resistor issues, could be the ignition amp has died tho they normaly don't restart so keen,

right , update , if the car is cold it starts and run's but as soon as it is walm problem start's , now i have checked all the vacume pipes and they are ok , but if i plug the old blue cooling sensor but not in the coolent (just hanging cold in the air )if you know what i mean it run's ok
i think it is the airflow meter , do these go wrong a lot ??? :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:

woudl suggest puttign a new temp sensor in first then, airflow meeters seem to be quite tough it is possibel to take the cover off and have a look but proab easyer to get one off scrap yard and just try it

there is a new one in it , just kept the old one in the boot for god knows why , just plugged the electrical connector on and left it dangling in the engine bay

Hi
Just cable-tie it to a place that warms up with the engine.
-
as soon as it warm's up it won't start/run
got another MAF to try tommorrow so will keep you posted :undecided: :undecided:

fixed
was the airflow meter , plus the one i bought had a loverly carbon cone filter  LOVERLY
