Title: 8v Digi rocker cover breather vent gunked
Post by: Nate187 on 22 October 2008, 17:38
Ive just been doing the timing on my digi today and when taking the rocker cover off i couldnt belive the amount of gunk on the underside of it particulary around the crankcase breather mesh stuff. Im abit concerned now thats its blocked and the mesh doesnt seem to be removable, i just wondered how you guys have cleaned it up as im sure some of you have come across this problem?
Cheers.

Also can someone tell me what the crankcase pressure regulator valve seal (the flying saucer gromit) is listed under on GSF. It split as i was removing it from the rocker cover.

Not sure how exactly to clean the mesh. Perhaps a toothbrush and some sort of degreaser?

The part you want from GSF is part no.10463, BREATHER BUNG-ON CAM COV. It says £1.80 plus VAT on the website.

clean it out with large amounts of carb cleaner.
