now tis winter, my car struggles to run without hot air feed, so in it goes. but...
ive got a gti manifold to put on, and that has no heat shield to collect the hot ait. Can i use the 1.6 heatshield on the gti manifold?

If it fits, wear it.

if it fits ofcourse i'l wear it, cos if not im gonna have carb freezing problems all winter long. if it doesnt, i'l try and source a gti heat shield.
both manifolds look pretty similar though, so im guessing it does fit.

on my 1.6 i managed to shear off both the bolts that held the shield to the gti manifold (all GTIs should have the heat shield in place too) So I used 2 large jubilee clips joined to gether and used them to hold the shield to the manifold, worked a treat!

il see what i can do. but the gti manifold i bought didnt come with a heatshield.

what i meant was i used my 1.6 heatshield, there isnt any difference between the 2, just as long as it fits you're golden!
