Post by: joesgti on 22 October 2008, 11:46

i was wondering if anybody had smoothed the front splitter into the bumper so there is no line seperating the two?? im thinking of doing this? does anybody have any pics?

Never seen that done before but if you dig up that picture of the black Scirocco from a couple of weeks back then i think that had something similar done with photoshop.

This would be huge job! Just would not look good and work; think loads of filler and cracks after the first speed bump!

could look good but if you hit a curb parking or something it could turn into something very expensive :(

maybe get a plastic welder to weld it all the way around maybe

You can get a special filler with an amount of flex in it for jobs like that. It's the kind of mod that doesn't suit a daily driver though.. looks good for a couple of weeks but then the scuffs and scrapes show.

I would rather have the split. Means any damage cause will cost alot less to fix, as you only have to buy a small part rather than the whole front section!

While we are talking about making 2 pieces into one any one got any pics of one piece back bumpers. I know hurdy posted a pic of a red 1.4 with one but i havn't seen any others.
Also is it possible to do plastic welding on the R32 one and turn that into a one piece bumper excluding the zorst insert of course.
