Title: 1.8 GTI 8v keeps cutting out

The car will start and run fine, every so often the car will cut out when standing still or start missing and struggling to go when trying to move... has any one any ideas, I’ve been told it could be the idle
Control Valve.. The problem is so intermittent

Any help would be great, cheers.

Could be your idle stabilisation valve. I had a similar problem but it turned out to be a worn distributor oil seal. Oil was leaking all over the contacts on the dizzy. Pop off your cap and see if you can see any traces of oil.

Sorted it, it was down to the K&N, i suppose the engine needed tuning to it which i did'nt do.
