They are lift pads.

bacillus was correct, though I'd like to know how he new, because none of my local stealers could ever find the part numbers for them!

Anyhow, front:

I was asking TT last week were to jack the car up and he didn't mention these, so i think he has done some research and found these points, but i looked all over for trolley jacking points and didnt spot these.
So can some one confirm for me. If i look under my car am i supposed to see these butt plugs or do i have to buy them and why is there ten  :undecided: sorry if this is really obvious perhaps i need to lie down  :undecided:

There are two plastic covers that "pop off" to revel this points I believe, as when my car was on the RR last week they removed these so they could strap the car down.

Nope.  But they are standard on the Mk1 TT, and my RS4 also has some different kind of lift pads fitted as standard.

The reason I didn't mention it is because they aint standard fitment.   Didn't want to have a confused moggy on the loose!

so i think he has done some research and found these points,

Yeah, I've been trying to find out about these for over a year.  I originally found out about them from this website blog - http://furmanka.blogspot.com/2006/06/10k-swonick.html.  I emailed the guy for the part numbers, but he didn't reply - and it took me ages to find the correct part numbers.

but i looked all over for trolley jacking points and didnt spot these.

You need to retro-fit them.

The rears just have a 10pence plastic cover, but for the fronts, you need to remove a small section of the undertray.

It took me ages to work out what you are on about!

Anyway, no, I don't have 10.  Don't you watch the BBC2 quiz show called "University Challenge"?  The question master askes the first question, (as a single effort without conferring, to be answered by the buzzer) - and this is reffered to as a "starter question" - and he commonly says sommat like "fingers on buzzers, here is your first starter for ten".  Answered correctly, they get 10 points - hence my attempt at whit!

And there was I, thinking everyone knew about University Challenge . . . .

TT, sorry to drag up an old thread, but I've just ordered some of these from my local Audi dealer. I thought I would see how the fornt ones fit, but try as I might, I couldn't get the circular(ish) access piece on the undertray off ? It would spin through 360 degrees, but would pop up, and just bent when I tried to lever it off. Were your's that difficult to remove ?

Also, if I can get the part off and the lift pad fitted, can the access panel be refitted with the lift pad still in place ?

Just give it a good tug, it will give in the end.

And no you can't reuse the covers when the pads are in.
