Can any one help please, i have a 1.8t and i was on the motorway
the other day and all of a sudden my stearing wheel started to wabble around as if the wheel were not balanced properly. I had it cheacked out and all the wheels were bang on. The wabbling starts about 20 - 30 mph and then stops as i get faster. All so when i dip the clutch the wobbling stops. Has any one got any thought on this please...

I havent experienced this yet with my VW but I had a problem with my last car that was very similar to the problem you're describing. After a lot of messing about it was due to the front ball joints.
Hope this helps :-)

Might be your bushes on the wish bone???
I'm having the same problem on my V5, but mine shakes at acceleration and braking .

This happens to me, but only if I brake hard from over about 70mph. I reckon it might be a slightly warped brake disc. Probably nothing to do with what you're experiencing though!

Check the driveshafts for damage.

This post started early last year......My car has suddenly developed a shake when braking - can anyone shine any more light on what would cause this to happen? Would replacing the front pads and discs help ????

mine has started to shake slightly threw the wheel at 80mph, but my front wishbone bushes are knackered :undecided:
