Title: what to do...
Post by: adw555 on 18 October 2008, 16:19
So have two Bridgestone RE050s on the front that are only 6 months old and have plenty of tread left...probably do another 8-9k miles...but the rears need changed...would like to move away from the Bridgestones and maybe try the Goodyear F1s...but will it be ok running different tyres front and back for the next 8-9 months, until the fronts need replaced to match ?

Tryes should be okay on the fronts, but I'd be tempted to put the new ones on the rear and swap the old ones to the front.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I think that the only Goodyear F1's you can get new now are the Assymetrics. In which case be prepared for some unpleasant random 'snatching' in some bends if you have Directionals (Bridgestones) and Assymetrics mixed.

As Hurdy advises - Deeper treads better on the rear axle.
