Title: Newbie from High Wycombe
Post by: euro dave on 17 October 2008, 21:44
Hi everyone,

I'm on the lookout for a mk2 golf, preferably with a 2.0 engine conversion!  I saw one for sale on your forum so thought I should register, hopefully I might be around for a while!

I currently own a 9N Polo with a few tasteful OEM+ extras, and a TDI remap.  Looking for a petrol car to have some fun with

Cheers

Dave

Car is a TDI Polo Sport, remapped to around 130bhp.  Audi competition alloys with a diamond cut refurb, full VW Votex kit (similar to the Golf anniversary kit but for Polos), colour coded and with KW V1 coilovers, and a SEAT strut brace to stop my dash from creaking!  I use it for a 70mile commute to Oxford and back each day, great for the B-Roads and handles extremely well.

The wheels:

And the boot install, consisting of a 10" Boston G5 and Passive Rad (around 3dB more with a correctly weighted rad), Genesis Sub amp and a split floor carefully designed by myself so I can still get to the spare wheel.  This is vital - I do a 70 mile daily commute.  Love the Boston stuff.

p.s. I should really introduce myself better rather than just come on and try to sucker information like a parasite!

Always been into modifying cars but in a subtle way - I run a car club in Berkshire, but I'm growing out of it now and don't really go to the shows anymore: www.teamshock.co.uk

Had Polos for many years (4 in total), and a Passat / Golf once.  Always liked VWs and have a fair bit of experience but not too much mechanically (well, not compared to some of you).  I also run www.howmotorwayswork.co.uk which was a rant site I created after getting fed up of middle laners!

Cheers

Hello!

Yes, I pop through Chiselhampton on the way, usually on a bit of a mission but always go safely through the built up areas.  Some nice roads around there.

I drop in from Sutton Courtenay to get to Milton park rather than hit Didcot.  It's a fair old commute but the car holds up well.

Cheers

Dave
