Title: stainless exhaust clunking !!!
Post by: davebatt69 on 24 May 2004, 11:56
Just bought a new 8v gti, it came with a stainless dtm system through out.
It does make a nasty clunking noise (mostly when its cold), i guess its where it goes over the rear sub frame.
Has anyone got a cure for this problem (stiffer hangers or something on the subframe?)
Help please it's doing my head in.

Is the car lowered? I found that there is just no londer enough room for mine to pass through the gap wihthout rattling. I just turn my tunes up  >:(

Id try stiffer hangers then.
