I have only just joined this forum so this maybe something that has been covered before. I have had a R32 on order since July, finally received a call last week to say it will be here in the next few days (Can't Wait) - so if like me you have been patiently waiting, hopefully it won't be much longer :)
-
Where did you order your R32 from? I have recently decided I must have one of these, but can't find that many places that can get one for me, other than VW dealerships but they don;t know how many cars they will be getting or when?

I ordered mine from a local VW dealership - RyeMill, High Wycombe, I thought by going in in July and ordering before anyone really got any knowledge of the car I would be near the top of the queue. My car is with them until the new year, I get a 2003 car, they get to show it to the people who are interested in one. When speaking to them, they have said that there are still cars to be had, but they can not give delivery dates and obviously there are only a limited amount, so first come etc. I did not get a built date for mine until approx 5 days before. I have to see them this week I'll try and find out some more info for you.

Do you know what their opening days/times are over Christmas?! High Wycombe is just down the road from me, well 30 mins, so I may have to go and see if I can have a test drive!!
Where abouts are they in High Wycombe?

I've just spoken to the dealer in High Wycombe to see what their opening times are and they told me that they have just taken delivery of a customers R32 which will be in the showroom!
I'm guessing this is yours?! I said I would pop along on Saturday or Sunday to have a look at it and talk to someone about ordering one for me! ;D :o

Yep it's mine. I spent most of the afternoon looking over it, the engine/exhaust sound is fantastic. They have told me that they are expecting a few people in before I take it away and hoped I didn't mind. I have a feeling this is going to be the longest few days of my life ;D
-
Alright for some ;)
How about a providing a load of pictures for the site once you get your hands on it???
Cheers,
JV

No problem, you may have to wait until I've got over the excitement of having to drive everywhere first ;D
-
What can I say. Picked the R32 up today and my face is permantely like this at the moment :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
"AWESOME"
JV, as soon as I have some daylight I'll send you some pictures, I might have to drive around a bit more before I get round to this though ;D
-
You are a lucky man :P
Bet you just want to spend all your time in it!
Have you owned any Golf's previously to be able to compare them?
jv
(not feeling jealous at all...)

Sorry to disapoint you but I'm not a man, most definetely female.
My previous car was a 2.0 GTI (2000 Model), they are nothing alike, I always found the 2.0 GTI to be gutless, great car around town and comfortable for touring, but not a GTI, should never been given this title, you can't have 2 GTI's in a range.
At the weekend the dealer loaned me their 1.8T (180BHP) GTI, much better car, very impressed with this, handled well and quite rapid.
The R32 is something else, the ride is hard, but its suppose to be, the steering is precise, and it sticks to the road like ............ you get the idea. Exhause noise is fantastic. Averaging about 14-16MPG at the moment, but thats my heavy foot ;D
Just need the snow and ice to clear now so I can give it some around the lanes.
-
Sorry, just kind of assumed you were male :)
You are going to be giving the local boy racers a hell of a suprise in that ;D
Thanks for the car comparison - you will have to get a gold card for your local BP if you carry on like that!!!
jv
-
are you married? lol :D
-
JV- I think the local garage will get me my own pump soon.
Seriously though if anyone is really thinking about one of these, they are heavy on fuel, it should only be run on super unleaded, insurance group is 18, and you have to put up with every young boy trying to prove their Saxo is much faster :)
Ows - you lucked out, already taken!
-
never mind!
*dreams of R32* ::)
keep rinsing those saxo boys off and anything else that has a go!!
Cheers

NJ I saw your R32 at the dealers in High Wycombe. Wow is all I can say! I'm not surprised at all that you are going around with a big grin on your face!
I ordered my R32 on New Years Eve and expect to take delivery of it in the summer! Can't wait!

Jeffers - Definetely worth the wait. ?You will probably find they are a little vague with dates etc but they do generally let you know as soon as they have any more info. ?If you ordered the deepblue like mine you may have to wait a little longer than if you ordered a black or a silver one, they currently only produce 5 blue ones a week for the whole of Europe. ?Definetely add the cruise control, might keep your license a little longer ?:)

NJ - I spoke to Dominic at Rye Mill yesterday and he told me about you taking him out for a spin in your R32! He also told me that I'm number 4 on the list and may move up to number 3! If that is the case my order maybe sent through in April!
Woo Hoo!
Now I just have to decide if I want a Silver R32 or an Anthracite Grey R32. ???

Oh the pressures of having to chose a colour for your R32! :P
Shame that the number 32 was never available to buy with R reg plates from the DVLA... R32 DUB has never even been released...

I'm not much into Silver Cars, always remind me of old rusty cortinas and escorts, everyone seems to have a silver car, but then its your choice.
Dominic told me today that he was speaking with you yesterday. Their giving the 32 a clean for letting them use it as a demo car. I think I may have scarred him a bit, but whats the point of having a car like that and not using it to the extreme ;D ;D NJ
