Title: Change of plans..
Post by: Benrevs on 15 October 2008, 18:45
My car was up for sale this month but i have changed my mind.  It was typical that as soon as I had it advertised things started to go wrong, to the extent that I wouldnt be happy selling it and wouldnt get a good enough price for it.   My plan is to get it off the road, get a little run-about and sort an engine out for it as the bottom end has started making grinding noises.

Anyway what im thinking is either an abf on tb's, a turbo 2.0 8v or a vr6 that would be charged eventually.
I can get a kr complete lump for a ton, what can be done with these without using the mechanical injection as im not too clued up on kr's.

Will keep u posted, may be a project thread on this soon!

If you want to go the 16v route the easiest one to use will be an ABF as its the most straightforward using a combination of mk3 and mk2 bits

Glad to hear you're not selling up :afro:
The 16v ABF sounds ideal as it's one of the easiest options.

With around 170bhp from an ABF on standard injection and a tubular manifold just fit one and try it.

You may find that 170bhp per tonne is plenty to have fun with.

To start with.

More bhp doesn't always mean more fun, just bigger bills when stuff goes wrong.
