Post by: Hurdy on 14 October 2008, 08:52
A few more bits arrived early this morning for the "old girl"

Looks lush too. Popping them on the car tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

....

The paddles (not made by OSIR) are great - Mine have been on for a while now (6 weeks?) and I wouldn't want to go back to stock paddles.

The adhesive tape really does work - The paddle action is always in the positive adhesion direction (towards you)

last thread about carbon fibre was a detailing Koenigsegg, thats what i thought you were referring too.

All Non related mk5 stuff now HAS to be put in either VW related Or chat Nonsense.

There are good reasons for this, but unfortuantly its not gonna please some people but we are having to keep it clean in here!!.

Sorry if thats why people are wondering why the plates are being washed regularly of late.

Unfortunately I haven't put in the C Frame sections as when I tried them they didn't fit right. On closer inspection they both have a slight bend at one side and so I've either got to sand them down or return them

Speak english John !!!, they dont fit, how on earth do they not???. Have you road tested them yet??

Post by: Hurdy on 15 October 2008, 19:44
If you look at my pic of the two infill parts for the lower centre console they aren't straight and so when you fit them they do not sit flush. You can't actually see from the pic, but the second pic shows the narrow part of the frame which is the bit that is slightly curved instead of straight..........I've confused myself now

oh i thought you were talking about the paddles not fitting!  :lipsrsealed:, well have you tried these paddles yet, and what are your

thoughts?

The paddles fit fine. It really is one of those modifications that is small yet you simply didn't know what you were missing until you tried them.

They are a superb piece of kit - well made, well designed and work wonderfully.

I don't find myself losing the paddles at all now. They sit easily to hand at my normal ten to two hand grip on the steering wheel instead of having to permanently seat my hands at quarter to three.
They sit at an easier position by the wheel and so feel more natural to use and when the wheel turns as I leave a T junction, I no longer have to drop to the gearstick for fear of losing the paddle position

Awesome peice of kit and gets a RedRobintastic Five star cool rating from me
