Just wanted to say a big thankyou to stu (vRStu) for fitted my factory fit Cruise control the other day. Has done a fantastic job, and works a
dream. Very fast and makes cracking coffee aswell!!!. If any off you want this fitting to your Mk5's, and leave in the Hampshire or
surrounding areas, he is your man!!!. Its really cheap compared to what the dealer wants to fit. (half price basically). Also he has Vag-com so
anything you want adding to the cars setup, then he can also fix it
-
Told ya
Highly recommend him for the bluetooth add on for the RCD/RNS510 as well.

x2, another happy VrStu bluetooth customer here as well

I wish he did home visits so that he could install an uprated IC for me.

Whats he got now Steve?

I have cruise control and never use it. I can see why it's popular in the US with the big long open roads but in the UK you can never get going anywhere long enough to make it worthwhile

I have no interest in motorway driving, so I just reach 85 on the climatronics and set the cruise. Perfect.
-
I use it a lot.....not just on long straight motorways......I find it saves me a lot on petrol.

I really want cruise fitted, But have readf about all the probs the dealers have getting it working sometime. Sounds like Stu really knows what he is doing!
any chance Phil, you could pm me his postcode for home or wherever he works from so I could work out how far he is from me?
thanks
-
I really wanted to get CC fitted by the dealer but have issues with time/booking etc, so this sounds like a good idea.
Would there be any issue with PCP on the car? If I decided to return the car at the end of three years (highly unlikely but then again, a year ago I didn't know I'd be buying a mkv instead of a mkiv gti), would there be problems with the dealer?
How long did he vrStu have the car for?
Where is he roughly? I'm down in dorset so need to know how much of a drive it'd be too.
Cheers.
-
He's near wickham, which is Fareham pretty much, closer then portsmouth Stealthwolf.
It took him less then 30 mins to complete. So very fast, and knows what he's doing
Send him a PM and he will iron things out.
-
I too also had my CC fitted by vrStu and can also say what a cracking job he did. Took around 20 minutes. Probably not even that. Also changed a few things for me with VAGCOM.
Top bloke, top service.
-
Thanks for the kind words guys.
Yes as you may have deduced the Octy is moving on to a new home and I now have a very nice S3 sat on the drive and no money in the bank!! Beats losing it in Iceland I suppose
I often get down into the Dorset area as my parents are down that way. Also got a trip to Norwich and Warwick coming up soon if that would help anyone.
-
Can you do cruise on the S3?, nice choice in motors by the way
-
I would imagine so mate, I was looking at the parts the other day actually.
-
i want an S3, trouble is i need 5 doors and that means latest model at a premium price  , nice cars though chaps

Stu,
I know I could probably search this, but how much am I looking at to have the BT fitted, including parts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And is it possible with my Ed 30 only having the Midline? (I know but I bought it 2nd hand!)
-
By BT do you mean big turbo??
-
I think he means Bluetooth ?
thats cool when you save money and get the job by someone who wants to do it well !

If you only have midline then you'll not get the phone book and calls displayed. You can still use the BT kit but only in so much as it muting the stereo and routing the sound and then with the voice from the in built microphone.
In short it would work as normal but you'd need to dial and accept the calls from your handset. The only variation to this is if you have a MFSW then you could use the voice dialing function which might be a nice idea.

Just a quick bump to publically thank Stu for fitting my Cruise Control, in a hotel car park in the middle of nowhere!
Fitted in under half an hour with a test drive demo to boot!
Certainlt knows his way round an interior of a mk5 and Vagcom.
I cruised all the way home!

-
hi stu (vRStu).. how much would you charge to fit cruise control on a mk5 1.9 TDI. thanks
-
How old is it? If it's around 2005/early 2006 it may need an extra wire which makes a difference.
-
its a 06 2006
-
ok, well I've sent you a PM anyway. I would think it's probably got the wire unless it was hanging around a bit before being registered.
-
sorry to be a pain, how do you get to your pm's i cant find it lol
-
top right of the page.
