Quick question on the Milltek Hi-flow Catalyst/Downpipe. Can you pop one of these bad boys between the engine and the normal exhaust, or do you need a Milltek exhaust at the same time?

Need a milltek, also if it did fit there would be no piont as the rest of the exhaust is restrictive.
-
Fair play, just wondered. Can't afford it all in one go, so was hoping it could be done in stages. I really like the R32 exhaust, but am thinking it's not worth the extra £100 over the 4 motion style exhaust :)

Yeah go for the V6 4 mo bob you know it makes sense
-
Because that's what you have? :) Guessing the garage can just cut a bit out of the rear balance for the exhaust to sit?

Yeah and IMO the R32 exhaust only looks good on an R32 with all the kit.
Yeah the bit is there ready to be cut. Best bet is to take it to someone who has done them before like awesome GTI etc.
-
IMO R32 pipe should be £200 cheaper
That pipe should only be on that car. Stick with twin rolled or discreet as I'm gonna, less is more.
I know it might seem a blow not been able to put on individually, but think how much difference it'll make when turbo-back goes on
Then stage 2 software
-
you can fit it to the original exhaust
well on the TDI downpipe you can as Milltek supply a reducer
the most restrictive part is your downpipe but you'll probably get a better deal by purchasing the whole system in one go
most Milltek dealers will do free fitting

Absolutely, Awesome all the way for any significant parts going onto the car. Plus I love the fact I can get parts cheaper elsewhere, and still take them there to be fitted. They have a BRILLIANT lounge area you can wait in whilst they do the work!

Really? Know any?
-
Really? Know any?
no good for you but JKM in Portsmouth do free fitting on the car back and if i purchased the downpipe they would only charge me £15 to get that fitted though if i got the whole system they may do it for nowt
i'm considering using them when i get mine fitted

Because they know you?

nope its what they offer
have a look on their website
http://www.jkm.org.uk/
-
Well, if you choose supply only on the site the parts are cheaper, so they do charge for fitting, but it's a rather low amount!! Yeah 10% off for supply only, nice tactic ;)

exhausts are fairly easy items to swap hence the low labour charge

Yeah? I assumed it'd be a big job for some reason. Awesome is about £699 for the downpipe and exhaust, working off the assumption their website prices don't include VAT.

Thay are except the downpipe. The TDI downpipe is about half the price of the petrol

When I'm a very old man the way things are going. I've got my new front Eibach ARB on the way once Eibach get their act together and deliver me the correct one  Then I need to buy new control arms, and get Awesome to fit it all. Any help on sourcing some cheap control arms would be appreciated. THEN I need to get new tyres, that's about £400. At some point springs are going to come into play, just some Eibachs for a 40mm drop more than likely. Then the next big thing will be the downpipe and exhaust, followed by a k03s turbo when I have the pennies. Shall get a pipercross panel filter when I get paid probably.
I also want a few none performance parts, like a proper rear spoiler, US spec rear lights, etc etc.
-
£400 for tyres??
i can get Eagle F1's for around £250 fitted in 18's

To fit the 4 motion style exhuast you need to fit the 4 motion rear valence dont you?

Yep you will have to cut out a metal piece aswell, its already there ( From the factory If the car was going to be a 4 mo) just need to be cut.

I take it you're talking about that 'L' bracket which holds the bumper on??
It doesn't have to be cut - I just bent it upwards a bit. It probably doesn't look as good as if it were completely removed, but I can bend it back down when/if I ever want to put the original valance back on. :afro:
-
is there a great deal of difference between the 4mo valence and the original valence i.e the depth of it, does it sit closer to the road
been thinking about an Anni exhaust but perhaps cutting the original valence to make it fit rather than pay silly money lol

It probably won't be that long until I try my Anni back-box with my 4M valance, if you want to hang on??
(I'd of thought you would have tried it by now, though!! )

i chopped mine down the middle and bent the left half up.. that way you can still bolt the valance back to the support :afro:
edit: found an old pic i took the day it was fitted

The delay is, that I've been waiting for a non-res centre section to come up in the classifieds/ebay as I've been quoted approx. £125 (+ VAT, IIRC) for a custom made straight through centre pipe - So if you see any being advertised, please let me know.......................
