had a full tune up ran like a dream for a week or so, then lost power , engine runs when stationary a bit rich, but idles ok, but if i try and drive it there is just no power, any ideas?
-
Possibly a dodgy blue temp sensor. If thats not reading correctly then the ecu will be over compensating the mixture, hence the rich running. Try changing that.
-
its got a new sensor , but its a gsf one, ive heard they can fail ?

Check for vacuum leaks.

Check for vacuum leaks.
Hi
What is the best way to check for vacuum leaks ?
-
GSF blue temp sendors cr@p. VW dealers sell them for £15......tons better
Might aswell replace all your vac hoses in the engine bay. Easy enough job and cheap.
Also I would check the throtle bodie sender. There are 2 wires coming from this sender......check they have not broken as thats fairly common.
-
all the vac is good and the senders all ok, found a hole in the middle section of the exhaust, checked every thing over and took it for a spin, its about 50% down on power, would the hole have this much effect, could it be a fuel problem?

Hmmm..... would'nt have thought so mate......unless the hole is huge!
Trying to think here.....
Have you recently put supermarket fuel in her as my Digi ran like a dog on that! I always used BP 97ron or Shell 99ron. Also injector cleaners....used a bottle of STP on mine every 10 weeks.
Only other thing I can think of is the throttle bodie sender. If thats up the creek it wont be letting the flap open fully to release full power.
The King of Kings when it comes to Digi's is Rubjonny....hopefully he will read this thread

Dead AFM is certainly a possib
-
have been using the optimum stuff that they sell, just ran the last tank with stp, any one got an afm will give that a go and replace the throttle body sender..
-
Would definately get the exhaust sorted out, haf the same thing with my middle section and it really cut down on the acceleration, not by half though I think.

Unplug the AFM and see if it makes a differance.....no differance means its the AFM! I will have a look in y garage a bit later as im sure I have a throttle bodie sender you can have

unpluged the afm and the engine cut out so thats working, would be good if uve got that sender mate,
