Title: 4 hours of cleaning!
Post by: Jkctr on 11 October 2008, 13:53
My mothers golf was after some TLC and having detailed my mums boyfriends BMW it was only fair i treated the GTI!

Its a 57 plate 5 door DSG with lots of extras such as leather, rear parking sensors, ipod (and lots im sure i dont even know) It was £25k new so had a few bits added.

Anyway.

Method was:

2 bucket to clean the car and wheels
Then all door shuts and boot shuts were cleaned
Car was then hand polished with some Sonus SSX2
Then was treated to some Jetseal101 and left to cure for 40 minutes.

While the jetseal was curing i attacked the interior
Mats were removed, hoovered and treated with some fabric repelent
Leather was cleaned and conditioned with Poorboys Leather stuff
All other interior parts were cleaned using megs interior detailer spray (was too new to need liquid restorer)
Whole interior was hoovered and mats put back

Then the Jetseal was removed
Wax used was swissvax onyx which was left for 10 minutes before being buffed off
Tail pipes were cleaned with special wire wool and polished with megs metal cleaner
Glass cleaned with megs glass cleaner
Trim was restored with AG trim restorer

Pics
(no befores as the camera just cant pick up the bad parts on this colour and unfortunatly cant pick up the metal flake after  )

How'd you manage to get all that done in 4 hours ? lol !

I did mine today (washed wheels, pre-washed with Hyperwash using the Hosecoil, hand washed using Duragloss 901, dried using a sonus towel, tried polishing the bonnet with Megs #80 on the PC - but gave up as wasn't getting the desired result ! and finally applied Serious Performance Sealant by hand) this lot took me just over 5 hours !

Absolutely knackered now !

Agreed - in four hours, all I could get done was pre-rinse, wash, rinse, clay, (no polish), wax, wheels.

Looks lovely.

The beemer is a 325i. He was going to go for the M3 but living on the island the extra power wasnt worth it and they didnt even know when the convertible was coming out so he went for this. Its incredible inside, bmw have really upped their game recently. The finish and standard are fantastic!

Just put this vid in the detailing section.

Heres the bmw sheeting after i washed it this morning :D
