Just wondered what the results were, and what the Revo settings were?
-
Just thinking that an S3 with revo, pump, intake and exhaust may have had it done?
-
Anyone? Even with CC, APR etc? Need a result with a proper intake like Dbilas (not a Carbonio), a full exhaust, pump and uprated intercooler.
Ta,
Horace
-
Why are you looking DJ?
An S3 will give slightly different results anyway as I believe the compression ratio is different to the ED30.
Oh and I'm debating changing my Carbonio soon too....for a "proper" intake. Unsure whether it will be a dbilas as the Neuspeed one looks rather tempting.

JonnyC over on the audi forums probably comes closest with his S3 before he went big turbo.
His results from the Prosport RR was 337bhp and 342lb ft

As said im not sure the S3 is a good comparison as most owners report a standard 290 bhp when Dynod

Just wondered what sort of figure to expect on Saturday when one of a similar spec goes on the rolling road. Also interested to see which Revo settings may be best with all these mods. Peak figures are not as important as nice progressive curves to eliminate huge boost surge and fast drop off after that.
Same car on same r/r made 321bhp and 295ft-lb with Milltek TBE, Carbonio and Revo Stage 1. Settings then were Boost 6, Timing 6 and Fuel 9. Additions since include KMD Pump, Dblias Intake, S3 Intercooler and Stage 2 Revo.
Settings considered are Boost 8, Timing 6, Fuel 8 or Boost 7, Timing 6, Fuel 9
-
Well as you know Al, mine has the Stage 2 with TBE and I am running B8 T6 F9 and seems to go well (what difference to the settings a FP would make I don't know to be honest). I have recently tried B9 T6 F9 and that seemed to go very well in this cooler weather..
I wonder who's this similar spec car is? :smug:
-
Lol.
Thing is, 6 6 9 could be used again to give a comparison, but with the bigger intercooler, more boost would hopefully still show a nice flat torque curve. The uprated pump should help where the stock pump struggled, and the extra air the car is ingesting now (noticeable audible and bum dyno change vs stock engine cover), it would be rude not to up boost a bit when there is enough fuel there to compensate.

Is it going on the rollers soon I take it?
-
Saturday, providing dv stands up. Forge one in box still to go on if need be.
-
whats the diff in stage 2? just the fuel pump? which achives?
-
Don't need FP for stage 2. But the Stage 2 + will be ready soon to suit the uprated FP. You do however need at least a TBE for Stage 2 and it improved the mid range and top end from what i've found. WHat about you Al..?

A local lad up here has a Cat Back and Carbonio on his K1 and runs Stage 2 based on Revo recommendations. Not sure what the setttings are.
He is however looking to add on the intercooler, pump and downpipe as soon as finances allow.
I was always under the impression Stage 2 code allowed for uprated components, ie more efficient air in and air out and higher revs, but I guess this is maybe not the case as you still run the stock intake do you not Ben?

Yes mate.. Will get a ITG panel filter at some point, but everything is fine at min with my MAF readings peaking at 256 when on VAGCOM.. Not sure how that compares with yours mate?
I am very suprised that Revo recommended that lad to add stage 2 without DP and Sports cat... That's not what they told me at HQ. Did he hear that from Revo themselves or just from a Revo dealer..? As just about every Software company I know require TBE for stage 2 software and that's on all makes of cars, not just VAG..
I could be wrong of course.. :undecided:
-
Really not sure if it was dealer or Revo direct, but I seem to recall it may have been Carl that he spoke to directly.
Not been in the car to see how it is yet right enough, but he seems happy after an initial doubt over a flat spot at 5200rpm.
-
i knew you could run stage 2 with stock down pipe as the cat does flow enough and i have changed the down pipe on mine last night and i am going to have a look at some logs on vag com tonight but now i know stage 2 can be put on i am going to have a look. Ben i will be coming on saturday now

What will you be logging out of interest?
-
not sure yet as was going to have a play tonight and was thinking of putting it on a exhaust gas tester to see what it pumps out on stage 1 with stock dp and cat back and then on stage 2 but people said it would fook the cat but i am not sure it would as the stock cat can flow just as well and should have enough back pressure aswell.

Yeah, but then they'll know i've blatently done it if I go back tomorrow with under 2mm all of a sudden and only 20 extra miles.. It'll be ok, i'll just put the backs on the front (even though one is a Exalto and one a PS2 thanks to Kwik $hit putting the wrong tyre on after a puncture ), sure they'll be fine though, as at least they have decent enough tread on them..
Mat: Yes it is mate.. But Shhhhh
-
You having a go at a burnout at pod ben?
The stripped blue cooper s is running on sat and there is an elise 111r on our stand too

Sounds good, you going 19's? I personally would go 18's but you need to make sure they clear those brakes

Not going for 19's, but may go for 235 section 18" tyres for a bit more grip with these.

I do mild ones mate.. Not easy to do with DSG though..
-
I dont want to risk the clutch doing burnouts :undecided:. I launch from around 2-2.5k rpm, any more than that and the car just wheel hops like crazy
Going to experiment with shift points at pod to see when is best to change
Matt are you bringing your vag com down?
Would be good to get some logs done on our cars when going up the strip

Talking of zorsts and the like I must be the only one here running map(race now :smug:) without TBE.
Interested to see what results you get going back to stock DP.
